WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING 

Based Bicester, the Inventory Analyst is responsible for supporting the effective management of stock across our distribution network. This role involves monitoring inventory levels, analysing demand trends, and optimising product availability across multiple depots. By working closely with procurement, sales, and logistics teams, the Inventory Analyst ensures accurate data, timely replenishment, and efficient stock control. The position plays a vital part in maintaining high service levels for our customers while reducing waste and minimising costs.

 

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and analyse inventory levels across multiple distribution centres and warehouses to ensure optimal stock availability.

 Evaluate product demand, order patterns, and lead times to forecast replenishment needs and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

 Maintain accuracy of inventory data within ERP and warehouse management systems (WMS).

 Conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliation to resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventory.

 Collaborate with procurement and supplier teams to manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and backorders.

 Identify slow-moving, excess, or obsolete inventory and recommend disposition or redistribution strategies.

 Create and maintain inventory dashboards and reporting tools for management review.

 Support logistics and operations teams in balancing inventory across locations based on sales velocity and forecasted demand.

 Develop and implement process improvements to streamline inventory accuracy, reduce costs, and improve supply chain efficiency.

 Ensure compliance with company inventory control procedures and audit requirements.

 

 Key Attributes:

•       4 years of experience in inventory analysis, demand planning, or supply chain management - ideally within food & beverage wholesale/ retail, or other similarly perishable industry

•       Experience with ERP systems (e.g., M3, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and inventory management software preferred.

•       Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

•       Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis).
