Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Director to lead our capital-raising efforts for a portfolio of alternative investment products, including fixed-income bonds, asset-backed debt, and private placements. This is a senior, client-facing role for a proven 'hunter' with a demonstrable track record of originating and closing investments from a private network of High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs), Family Offices, and professional investors.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable working independently in a remote-first environment, and possess a deep, portable book of active investor relationships. You will be responsible for the entire fundraising lifecycle, from prospecting and relationship management to closing significant capital inflows. This role is pivotal to our firm's growth and offers a highly lucrative, performance-driven compensation structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Capital Raising & Origination: Independently originate, nurture, and close investment commitments from your existing network of HNWIs, Family Offices, and professional investors to meet and exceed capital-raising targets.
- Investor Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for your investor base, providing expert guidance on our alternative investment offerings and ensuring a best-in-class client experience.
- Strategic Network Expansion: Proactively identify and develop new investor relationships and distribution channels, including potentially building and overseeing a network of introducer agents.
- Market & Product Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of the alternative investment landscape, particularly in private debt, structured income, and fixed-income products, to effectively articulate the value proposition to sophisticated investors.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A significant and demonstrable track record of raising private capital for alternative, illiquid, or structured investment products.
- An active, current, and portable book of relationships with HNWIs, (Multi) Family Offices, and/or professional investors in the UK, Europe, Middle East, or Asia.
- Proven ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, managing the full sales cycle from introduction to close.
- Experience working within a boutique investment firm, alternative asset manager, or capital introduction brokerage.
- Willingness and ability to travel for key investor meetings and attend occasional team meet-ups in Manchester, UK.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience in distributing higher-yield, secured, or asset-backed debt products.
- Existing network of introducers or third-party distribution agents.
- Formal financial qualifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA) are valued but secondary to a proven capital-raising track record.
