Head of Audio
London (Hybrid) | Live Events Agency | Salary: £75K
CoCo Group is recruiting a Head of Audio on behalf of an amazing client: a live events agency with a reputation for ambitious, high-profile, technically demanding work. They're after someone who's ready to own audio brilliance not just on one show, but across the whole business.
The short version: you'd become the agency's senior audio authority. Full stop. Design, deployment, standards, mentoring, roadmap, all of it runs through you.
The longer version:
You'll be the name people go to when a project's complex enough to need a genuine expert in the room, briefing crews, guiding system design, and giving clients and venues the confidence that comes from working with someone who's clearly done this before, a lot.
You'll set the standards the rest of the technical team works to, rather than inheriting someone else's. You'll have real influence over what kit the business invests in next and which platforms are worth chasing. And you'll spend a meaningful part of your time developing others, mentoring Technical Project Managers and technicians, and helping build a team that's confident working across disciplines, not just within their own lane.
On the technical side, you'll want to be genuinely fluent in:
Vectorworks (Braceworks a strong plus) · ArrayCalc & NoizeCalc · Shure Wireless Workbench · Yamaha desks · Dante certification · RF planning and wireless systems
Day to day, the role covers a lot of ground:
And beyond the technical checklist, they're looking for someone who:
- Has led audio on large-scale, high-profile live events, not just supported it
- Builds trust quickly with clients, venues and suppliers
- Stays calm and decisive when a project gets complicated
- Genuinely enjoys coaching and developing junior team members
- Has a solid network across the audio and live events world
- Cares about doing things safely and properly, not just impressively
