Alfa Demo Inc. is expanding its engineering team, and we are looking for a dedicated Software Engineer to join us on a permanent, full-time basis. Operating remotely from London, United Kingdom, you will play a core role in developing robust digital solutions, refining our technical standards, and collaborating with a modern, distributed engineering team. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain high-quality, production-ready software solutions that align with team standards.
- Write modular, efficient, and well-structured code by applying foundational algorithms, data structures, and established software design patterns.
- Collaborate through Git-based workflows, participating constructively in code reviews and pull requests to elevate engineering quality.
- Partner with engineering colleagues across the development lifecycle to continuously refine architecture, delivery practices, and codebase health.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software bugs, performance bottlenecks, and technical challenges across our systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong background in software development, including applied knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and clean coding principles.
- Solid experience in object-oriented programming, functional programming paradigms, or modern software design patterns.
- Proven proficiency with one or more core programming languages, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C++, Go, or C#.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience using version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or GitLab, including trunk-based development and pull request workflows.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom, as visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Nice-to-have
- Familiarity with testing methodologies and quality assurance practices, such as unit testing, integration testing, TDD, and automated debugging.
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational database design, data persistence, and querying with SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Experience in API design and web services, including RESTful endpoints, GraphQL, HTTP specifications, or microservices architecture.
