Role Overview
We are seeking a diligent and commercially-minded Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Salford. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either an accountancy practice or a financial accounting role in industry and will be responsible for producing timely and accurate management accounts, providing insightful financial analysis, and supporting key business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for a late stages PQ or Newly Qualified Accountant to make a significant impact within a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Management Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Financial Analysis & Budgeting: Conduct variance analysis against budget and forecast, providing detailed commentary and insights to senior management to support strategic planning and performance monitoring.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with non-finance departments to provide financial guidance, improve commercial awareness, and support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and enhance financial processes and controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the quality of financial information provided to the business.
- Statutory & Compliance: Assist with year-end statutory accounts preparation, liaise with external auditors, and ensure compliance with VAT and other tax regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified or part-qualified.
- Demonstrable experience in a management accounting, financial accounting, or accountancy practice role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SUMIFs) and experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP).
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

- Experience working within a fast-paced, commercial environment.
- Xero Experience
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
