VP, Design & Construction

WNTD

Dublin, Ireland · Permanent · Remote

As Volta's embedded RPO partner, WNTD is working directly with the leadership team to build the organisation behind one of the most ambitious AI infrastructure platforms in the market.

Volta is building AI factories across Europe and North America.

Its first AI factory is a 133MW development in Norway, designed around NVIDIA Vera Rubin systems, with a contracted power pipeline of more than 1GW behind it and further sites already moving through preconstruction across the Nordics and United States.

We are now hiring a VP, Design & Construction to lead how Volta's AI factories are planned, designed and built globally.

This is a significant leadership role with ownership across:

  • Preconstruction and front-end planning
  • Design and engineering
  • Construction delivery
  • Cost, schedule, safety and quality
  • Commissioning and handover
  • Regional delivery across Europe and the United States
  • Contractors, consultants and strategic delivery partners
  • Building the delivery standards and playbooks Volta will use as it scales

This is not a single-site construction role.

We are looking for someone who has already led large-scale hyperscale data centre design and construction programmes across multiple regions and has built the organisation and operating model around them.

You will need:

  • Deep hyperscale data centre experience
  • Multi-region design and construction leadership
  • Strong preconstruction and capital programme experience
  • Experience building and leading regional and site delivery teams
  • An engineering or construction background with strong M&E knowledge
  • Experience managing capital programmes running into the billions
  • The ability to operate quickly and make decisions without layers of corporate structure

Volta has launched with a $10B strategic partnership with a leading frontier AI lab, a Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz and a $5B AI Infrastructure Fund.

The scale is substantial, but so is the opportunity.

For someone who wants to help define how the next generation of AI infrastructure is delivered, this is a rare leadership role.
