Journeyman Electrician

We are currently recruiting a skilled, safety-conscious Journeyman Electrician to take full ownership of electrical installations, maintenance, and complex system troubleshooting.
In this role, you will serve as a crucial technical specialist, executing precision electrical work while ensuring strict compliance with local, national, and industry safety standards. Whether you are wiring sophisticated commercial setups, diagnosing intricate control faults, or upgrading legacy infrastructure, your practical skill set will directly power our operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- System Installation & Commissioning: Read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to install, wire, and test electrical systems, control panels, fixtures, and apparatus.
- Diagnostic Troubleshooting: Systematically trace electrical faults, diagnose equipment failures, and repair or replace defective components, wiring, and circuitry using standard diagnostic tools.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative upkeep on power distribution systems, transformers, and industrial or commercial electrical setups to prevent downtime.
- Code Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work fully aligns with local regulations, National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, and strict workplace safety protocols (including Lockout/Tagout procedures).
- Quality Assurance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance, system modifications, and material usage while mentoring apprentices on technical best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- Certified Qualifications: Hold a valid, active Journeyman Electrician License issued by a recognized state or national licensing board.
- Proven Field Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience working independently as a qualified electrician across commercial or industrial environments.
- Blueprint & Technical Literacy: Demonstrated ability to accurately read, interpret, and work from detailed electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Core Technical Proficiency: Deep familiarity with power distribution, conduit bending, panel building, circuit testing, and modern diagnostic tools.
- Safety First Mindset: Strong operational knowledge of workplace safety regulations, hazardous location procedures, and protective equipment protocols.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience working with specialized systems such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), or building automation platforms.
- Thermal imaging / thermography certification for predictive electrical maintenance.
- An active Master Electrician license or a commitment to pursuing higher-level certification.
