At Alfa Demo Inc., we are growing our engineering team in Stockholm and looking for a dedicated AI Engineer to help shape our core intelligent systems. In this full-time, permanent role, you will bridge the gap between machine learning concepts and functional products, working directly on generative AI and modern machine learning pipelines. Operating in a hybrid setup from our Stockholm base, you will collaborate closely with the team to design, experiment with, and deliver robust intelligent software. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this role, so valid working rights for Sweden are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and implement advanced machine learning models and generative AI systems to solve complex technical challenges.
- Build, evaluate, and optimise retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and LLM-driven workflows.
- Develop efficient, maintainable Python code for model training, fine-tuning, and data processing.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate AI functionality smoothly into backend services and overall product architectures.
- Keep pace with emerging AI research and frameworks, testing new tools and approaches to continuously improve technical capabilities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in Python 3, including object-oriented and asynchronous programming, alongside libraries such as NumPy and Pandas.
- Practical experience in machine learning and deep learning using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
- Proven track record with modern generative AI tooling, including Large Language Models (LLMs), LangChain, LlamaIndex, the OpenAI API, Hugging Face, prompt engineering, and vector databases.
- Solid grasp of fundamental model training, fine-tuning techniques, and neural network architectures.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.
Nice-to-have
- Familiarity with MLOps practices, containerisation, and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, MLflow, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with API and backend frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask, and building RESTful microservices.
