About the Client Our client is a small, specialist recruitment business focused on a very specific type of client — high-growth AI and SaaS startups across London, New York, and San Francisco who need exceptional GTM talent and won't compromise on quality to get it.

They don't work on volume, they work on quality. Almost everything is retained or exclusive, and most work comes through referrals and reputation. That means the roles are genuinely interesting, the clients are bought in, and the bar for what "good" looks like is high.

The Role Our client's biggest constraint on growth right now is sourcing and screening time — and that's where you come in. You'll own candidate delivery across their GTM roles, spanning both individual contributor and leadership hires. The majority of volume is in Sales (predominantly AEs), with hiring across Marketing, Customer Success, and increasingly Founder's Associate and Chief of Staff positions. You'll work directly with the founder and senior recruiter, joining kickoffs, getting under the skin of each brief, and building your own search strategy from there.

The screens you run will matter. Candidates are senior and heavily approached — they can tell within two minutes whether the person on the other end of the call actually gets what they do. Our client needs someone who can hold that conversation properly.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Getting deep into briefs: joining kickoffs, asking the right questions, and building a search strategy that goes beyond the obvious
  • Sourcing and headhunting: finding the people who are hard to find and getting them interested — not just reaching out to whoever shows up first on LinkedIn
  • Running quality screens: real conversations that properly assess fit, not a checklist read down a phone
  • Managing your pipeline: keeping things moving, staying on top of every role, and making sure nothing stalls
  • Thinking commercially: spotting strong candidates worth speccing to clients, flagging market signals, and contributing ideas — not just delivering to a brief

What Our Client is Looking For

  • Solid recruitment experience in agency, RPO, or in-house, with a background placing talent into high-bar, high-growth tech startups — ideally AI, SaaS, or B2B product companies
  • Real sourcing and headhunting ability — you know how to build a search, go beyond the obvious, and consistently find strong candidates others miss
  • Experience placing GTM talent across IC and/or leadership levels — you understand what good looks like and can assess it properly
  • Confident and credible on a call with senior, sought-after candidates — warm and natural, not scripted
  • Someone who pushes back on a brief rather than just running with it — asks smart questions, challenges assumptions, and helps shape the search
  • A quality over volume mindset — you'd rather send three outstanding candidates than fifteen average ones
  • Comfortable in a small, fast-moving, founder-led environment where pace is high and standards are higher

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base: R30,000 – R38,000
  • Commission: ~5% of fees | Typical fees £10k–£12k, some £20k–£25k+
