Volunteer Coordinator

About the role

Are you a bright, bubbly and naturally warm person who loves meeting people, building relationships and making things happen? We're working with a fantastic healthcare charity looking for an enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator to support, develop and grow their volunteer network.

This is a varied, people-focused role where no two days are the same, and where your work will have a real and visible impact on people's lives.

What you'll be doing

• Recruiting, welcoming and supporting volunteers
• Building strong, positive relationships with volunteers, staff and the wider community
• Coordinating volunteer activities, rotas and schedules
• Helping volunteers feel valued, supported and engaged
• Organising events, activities and volunteer initiatives
• Promoting volunteering opportunities and helping attract new volunteers
• Keeping accurate records and ensuring appropriate processes are followed
• Acting as a friendly and approachable point of contact for volunteers
• Coming up with new ideas to improve the volunteer experience

What we're looking for

Most importantly, we're looking for personality. You'll be naturally friendly, confident and approachable, with the ability to make people feel comfortable and valued. You'll ideally have:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive, enthusiastic and can-do attitude
• Strong organisation and time-management skills
• The confidence to speak to a wide range of people
• Creativity and the ability to think of new ideas
• Good IT and administrative skills
• A genuine interest in supporting a healthcare charity and its volunteers

You don't necessarily need previous experience as a Volunteer Coordinator. If you have the right attitude, personality and potential, we'd love to hear from you.

Hours and contract

Full-time, flexible hours (up to 37.5) between Monday and Friday. This is an initial 6 month fixed-term contract which could turn permanent.
